The plant will be suitable for treating transformer oil by first heating and then passing it through specially designed filters and then subjecting it to high vacuum treatment which dehydrates and degasifies the oil to following specifications after completion of the process.

The plant basically performs coarse and fine size filtration followed by degassing and dehumidification by processing oil spread over a large surface area under vacuum after which the oil is delivered for use. However, the background of present day oil filtration design must be known to the user of the plant. Formerly, the concept used was rough vacuum (about 80 Torr of absolute i.e. 680 Torr of atmosphere) and high temperature (Roughly 60-80°C). Present day investigations have revealed that such a combination of repeated or prolonged exposure is actually dangerous to the oil. After intensive investigations conducted by several august institutions all over the world, the latest trend in oil filtration plant design has been towards lower temperature and high vacuum.
