Operating principle
Pneumatic conveyors use different types of blowers or suction compressors to generate the overpressure/underpressure required to move a material. Typically, the material is fed into the conveyor line through a closed feeder. The mixture of the material being conveyed and air is pushed and/or pulled through the conveyor pipes to a receiving tank, where the transfer air is separated from the material using a filter or cyclone.
Suitability
Pneumatic conveyors are suitable for medium to long conveyor distances (10-200 m) and medium to high conveyor capacities (100-30,000 kg/h). Conveyor pipes can be placed in almost any lateral or vertical configuration, thus making it easy to install in cramped spaces.

The Automatic Powder Transfer System (PTS) by Shree Guru Enterprises India is a vacuum-based conveying solution designed for the efficient and hygienic transfer of powders and granules from one process area to another (e.g., from drums/bags/silos to reactors, hoppers, mixers, or filling stations). It is a fully enclosed, automated system that eliminates dust emissions and manual handling.

The system uses negative pressure (vacuum) to draw powders through a transfer line into a receiving hopper or buffer vessel, ensuring safe, dust-free, and high-precision handling of raw materials in batch or continuous processes.

Vacuum Conveyors and Vacuum Conveying Systems transport the most diverse materials such as powder, dust, pigments, lakes, granulated material, tablets, capsules, small parts etc. in a suction air stream under vacuum through hoses or pipes. From fine dust with only 0.5 grain size up to plastic caps for medical infusions. From the lightest filling agents with only 0.05 kg/m3 up to metal powders with bulk density 10 and above.     A Lean Phase Vacuum Conveying System is used for transferring dry bulk materials (powders, granules, etc.) through pipelines using negative pressure (vacuum). This system is ideal for transporting lightweight and non-abrasive materials over short to medium distances.
    Working Principle

    1. Material Pickup (Suction Point)

      • The material is extracted from a feed hopper, silo, or bulk bag unloader.
      • A vacuum is created in the pipeline using a vacuum pump or blower, pulling the material into the pipeline.
      • Airflow entrains the material and conveys it in a dilute (low concentration) phase.
    2. Material Transport

    A lean phase conveying system typically consists of the following components:

      A. Positive Pressure Lean Phase Conveying
      • A blower/compressor generates positive pressure (0.1 to 0.5 bar).

      • High-velocity air (15-35 m/s) carries the material through the pipeline.

      B. Negative Pressure (Vacuum) Lean Phase Conveying
