SGEI offer a vacuum dense-phase system, the Powder Transfer System (PTS) developed and patented by SGEI. It is a highly effective method for transferring and dispensing both dry and wet powders and granules in a safe and contained manner. Whilst there are many PTS’s on the market SGEI’s system has been unrivalled. Its unique filtration concept a flat filter membrane makes it the only vacuum dense-phase system that functions at optimum levels for each cycle currently on offer, differentiating it from the run of the mill systems on the market.
The PTS is a pneumatic conveying system using both vacuum and pressure without relying on gravity allowing to move powders as if they were liquid eliminating the need for multi floor processes. The system is ideal for transferring highly explosive powders and the transfer of toxic and hygroscopic materials. The PTS eliminates oxygen from the powder and the system is separated by a physical barrier from the reactor to avoid fires and explosions when in operation providing a safe and reliable method for powder transfer. The PTS is directly installed on the receiving vessel, which it can isolate during the loading phase. One of the major advantages of this technology is that it makes it possible to separate the air from the powder and to keep the receiving vessel inert while loading the powder by using, for example, nitrogen to discharge the PTS chamber. It is, therefore, possible to safely charge powder into a reactor, which contains solvents or is pressurized, without risking explosions or dangerous gas leaks.

The PTS Cleaning Device ensures Cleaning in Place (CIP) is easily achieved. The system is fitted with a liquid separator component installed in the upper part of the PTS body. The liquid separator sucks liquids into the system and a float in the main cover prevents the liquid from entering the vacuum line. The PTS body and the powder transfer hose are cleaned at the same time, a considerable advantage over using a spray nozzle.
The PTS and Mobile PTS can easily be installed in to your current environment and will significantly enhance any process. A substantial reduction in batch times and accelerated production can be achieved. The PTS – Powder Transfer System offered by Shree Guru Technologies is an exceptionally effective and reliable method of transferring and dispensing both dry and wet powders and granules. Its unique filtration concept with a flat membrane and cartridge membrane makes it the only vacuum dense-phase system suitable for large number of powders.
The central component of the PTS is the PTS pump. It is composed of the cylindrical PTS body, the PTS filtration membrane and the PTS cover. The PTS is equipped with four automatic valves.
The product inlet valve (V1) and the product outlet valve (V2) are attached to the PTS body. The vacuum valve (V3) and the pressure valve (V4) are installed on
the PTS cover which is separated from the PTS body by the PTS filtration membrane. The PTS filtration membrane thus separates the product in the PTS body from the conveying air. Any gas which is suitable for the respective production process, such as compressed air or nitrogen, can be selected as the conveying gas. The valves are connected to an automatic sequencer. They open and close following a predefined time sequence. This guarantees a gentle transfer with little mechanical stress being exerted on the product. Moreover, product can be discharged into the reactor without oxygen input or dust emissions. Suction, discharging and waiting periods are set in accordance with the production procedures.
Sequence Of Operation –
1. PTS is mounted on a trolley; trolley is moved towards the reactor you want to charge.
2. Clamp the PTS at the inlet of the reactor, with the help of bellow provided.
3. Suction pipe is inserted in a powder.
4. A transparent, fiber cap is connected with suction pipe, to seal the drums, at the time of suction.
5. Press the start button.
6. Vacuum Valve opens and a negative pressure is created in PTS.
7. after 2 second delay, Suction valve is open and material starts sucking in PTS.
8. After 10 second, vacuum valve and suction valve are OFF.
9. At the same time Discharge valve ON, and Pulse valve starts purging nitrogen, to clean the filters.
10. Same sequence repeats again and again.
11. When temperature of reactor increased to setpoint, whole process will pause.
12. Now System waits for temperature to settle down, when temperature reaches to safe point, systems starts again.
